10 Principles To Live By As A Youth

Never make the error of forgetting that you only have one opportunity to live as a youth and how you spend your time as a youth will determine the kind of life you will live as an adult. Here are principles to help you become a successful youth.

1. Flee youthful lusts (2 Timothy 2:22). When it comes to sexual temptations, the best way to fight them is by running away from them. Joseph in the Bible did not resist but he ran away.

2. Remember your Creator (Ecclesiastes 12:1). This means giving God first place in your life. Have a personal relationship with the most important person: Jesus Christ.

3. Discover your purpose. Apostle Sibiya says there are 2 things you must do in life, discover your purpose and secondly die fulfilling it. It is best that you discover your purpose before you are married because your purpose determines who you will marry.

4. Invest most of time in acquiring new knowledge. Go to school!! The distance between your current level and your next level is called new knowledge. Learn by asking questions, a good student is never afraid to ask questions.

5. Prepare for marriage. The foundation of marriage is laid in youth hood. Learn about marriage and decide on the marriage you would want. Failure to plan is planning to fail.

6. Have the right connections. You are as strong as your connections so connect with those that are better than you. Remember bad friends corrupt good morals (1 Corinthians 15:33).

7. Be organized. Manage your time and resources wisely. Don’t play when its time to work or vice-versa. Your life should be well coordinated.
8. Be a good listener especially in the presence of someone greater than you. You should listen more than you talk because listening increases your chances of learning something new.

9. Guys keep your zips shut and girls keep your legs closed.
Sex is meant for married couples only. Wait for the right time.

10. Have a mentor.
You cannot afford to live without a life coach. Its better to learn from someone else’s mistake than from yours.
