Must Read Especially For The Youth!! 9 Questions To Ask Before Getting Married

As you begin the journey of love which will eventually lead to marriage it is important to follow your heart but take your brains with you.

Before you say I do here are some questions you must ask first:

1. Do We Share The Same Values Spiritually? Especially on the fundamentals of Christianity like the Bible, faith, giving et al. Decide which church you are going to submit to after you are married.

2. What Is My Partner’s Vision For Their Life?
Do our visions intertwine? Before the girl says I do she must know and understand the guy’s vision. A guy without a vision is like a Mercedes without an engine- it will not take you anywhere.

3. Do I Have Health Complications? Do you have, or have you had any, sicknesses or physical problems that could affect the relationship? (allergies, cancer, eating disorders, venereal disease, etc.)

4. How Many Children Do We Plan To Have? It’s also important to know before hand on how you plan to space your children.

5. How Honest And Transparent Are We To Each Other? Especially about our past. Understand that the foundation of trust is transparency.

6. Am I Really Prepared To Submit, Love And Become One With My Partner?
Love in marriage is more than a feeling or emotion but a decision and it includes submitting to each other and giving your spouse first priority.

7. Are we friends with My partner? Friendship is about having fun and spending time together doing your hobbies. It is different from the relationship between the boss and his employee.

8. How Well Do We Handle Dispute In Our Relationship? In what ways can we become better? Violence must never be tolerated in the relationship. Always walk out of an abusive relationship as soon as you can.

9. How Compatible Are We In Our Spending Of Money? How are we going to handle money once married? Decide on your priorities before you get married.

Having asked this, you then can make an informed decision. Remember dating is about data collection which will aid you in deciding either to quit or continue with the relationship.
