We all celebrate Christmas in our own way but this year why don’t you ask yourself this, what is the best Christmas present that I can give and to whom should I give it to?

Mr and Mrs Smith lived in the medium density suburb of Meltis and everyone knew them because they were a joyous couple always. It was just a day before his wife’s 40th birthday so Mr Smith was wondering what he could buy for her since he had promised to buy something exceptional on this particular day.

An hour later he went to a popular car dealer and on special offer were two cars, a red BMW which happened to be the car of his wife’s dreams and coincidentally next to it a black Mercedes the car of his dreams. This got him into a dilemma, would he buy what he wanted or what his wife wanted?

After two hours of pacing around the two cars Mr Smith decided that since it was his money, he was going to buy the car of his dreams the black Mercedes. Before he could make the purchase a wise old man approached him and asked him why he had decided to buy the Mercedes and Mr Smith presented his facts and to Mr Smith’s surprise this is how the old man responded.

The old man gave Mr Smith a firm grip on the shoulder and said, “Son! Although the money is yours, never forget whose birthday this is. Give your spouse what she desires and not what you desire because you are not the owner of the birthday”. Immediately Mr Smith paid for the red BMW and gave it to his wife the next day.

Christmas day is about celebrating the purpose of Jesus Christ’s coming to earth which is to save the lost. Since birthdays are about celebrating them the way the owner of the birthday wants, the best way to celebrate this Christmas would be to give our Lord Jesus what is upon his heart which is to bring souls to him.

The best Christmas present you can give to Jesus is your soul. If you are not yet born again then give your life to Jesus or if you are born again then lead someone to Christ.

Just pray this simple yet powerful prayer with me:

Lord Jesus forgive me of my sins
Make me a new creation and write my name in the book of life
Now come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour. Amen
